Development projects and organisations spend a lot of money on custom developed, web based MEL. Aptivate have helped create these systems and over the years we have noticed how the projects often need the same features. To save resources and money, we are developing an MEL product so that we can offer an off the shelf solution; rather than something custom built. This is open source, low bandwidth and highly accessible, helping development organisations improve project planning and reporting. Kashana is also looking to be integrated with popular data collection tools such as ODK and Survey Wiki.

Kashana is designed to help development organisations, particularly those without their own ICT department. Our aim is to take the pain out of the planning and the monitoring to enable you to spend more time on evaluation, learning, and delivering better results for the people you are helping.

Aptviate has helped a range of organisations develop their ICT enabled MEL capacity, which provided the background for Kashana. We enhanced our previous experiences through research trips and interviews with development organisations to inform the design process. We now want to make Kashana as useful and accessible as possible.
